    Italian researchers have performed well in the European Research Council’s grant program: 685 scientists won a total of €2.5 million, just behind Germany and France. But though half of the Italian winners chose to conduct their research in another EU country (which is normal for scientists) only 36 foreign scientists have chosen to do their research in Italy
