Salary gap between northern and southern regions close to 20%

In 2014, the average gross annual salary in Italy stood at €28,977, or approximately €20,306 net per year, amounting to €1,560 per month.

These concise figures are highlighted in the 2015 JP Salary Outlook, a comprehensive overview on wages in Italy, conducted by JobPricing's monitoring unit. The figures are in line with the OECD's estimates of salaries in Italy in 2013, and point to a flat wage growth in the past twelve months.

As for regional differences, the average salary in Northern Italy (amounting to € 30,134) was 19.8% higher than the average salary in Southern Italy and in the Islands (€ 25,148).
