Unemployment rate seen stuck at 11.6% in 2017, falling to 11.3% in 2018

The Italian labor market is set to improve in the short term, according to estimates from the Bank of Italy, which sees the unemployment rate falling progressively from the 11.6% recorded in 2016. In the current year the central bank expects to see a stabilization while in 2018 the unemployment rate will start to go down, firstly to 11.3% and then under 11% in 2019 (10.9%). In 2015, the unemployment rate in Italy was 11.9%.
