Fratelli d'Italia

A conservative, right-wing party, formed on December 2012. It advocates forsaking the euro and bringing back the lira, Italy's old currency. It comprises former members of National Alliance, Christian Democrats and Liberals who come from the former Forza Italia party, which was founded by Silvio Berlusconi. Giorgia Meloni is the president of the party. She used to be an acolyte of Silvio Berlusconi within his previous People of Freedom Party. It is too small to be a decisive player on the national scene, but is large enough to influence the emergence of a center-right coalition.
